Lady Antebellum’s Tour Goes On

Lady Antebellum has been a Cinderella story through the latter portions of 2010 and early 2011, capped off by their win at the Grammys and a big show of support from their fans and peers across the world.

Their smash hit “Need You Now” has become the anthem for location torn lovers and other despondent lovers across the country, as it debuted at number 50 on the Billboard Country charts in August of last year, and has continued to spread throughout the airwaves.

Since then, the feature song, also with the same title, has helped the album go double platinum and has served as the entree into an even greater lineup of songs from their second studio album, released over a year ago in late January of 2010.

The four singles on the album are “Need You Now”, ”Our Kind of Love”, ”American Honey” and “Hello World.”

Luckily for fans, they’ve been touring non-stop since mid-2010 and have continued the tour amidst appearances at the Grammys and Ellen Show, into much of this year. While currently on a short hiatus from the first leg of the 2011 Lady Antebellum Tour, they resume on March 10th in Robinsonville, MS, and continue through the spring and summer, capping off the final leg on September 3rd at Essex Junction, VT, at a fair of all places.

Though Lady Antebellum is primarily a country outfit, they’ve been able to penetrate other markets by appealing to pop fans and mixing genres to create a compelling mix of music and vocal styles that appeal to more than their Nashville roots.

Many of their concert dates are part of country tours, concerts, and festivals, and because of that are not necessarily being covered by a single marketplace, such as Ticketmaster. This is good because it means ticket prices should be much cheaper than normal, being prices as low as $15 in some venues.

Lady Antebellum is composed of Charles Kelley (lead and vocals), Dave Haywood (vocals, instrumentals), and Hillary Scott (lead and background vocals). They debuted in Nashville in 2007, were later signed by Capitol Records, and shortly thereafter released their first full album.

Since then, they’ve seen a much deserved whirlwind of success, which they’re hoping to continue into their next album. I imagine they’ll spend time winding down from their 2011 tour before they begin recording once more, but with young guys and gals like these, you never know.
