Katy Perry Touring Non-Stop
Katy Perry has swept the nation with her cute looks and pop hooks, attracting men and women, boys and girls to buy her music and/or sing along on the radio. And it’s hard to miss her, as she’s released a score of singles that are catchy and energetic – the kind you can’t get out of your head.
Though her success is certainly well deserved, her history has been one of trials, where she was signed, then dropped, then signed again.
Oddly enough, Katy Perry is the daughter of pastor parents and grew up singing in the church, yet rushed onto the scene with her 2008 single, I Kissed a Girl. Her debut “hit” single, which was the second track released on the album One of the Boys, and helped it become the thirty third best selling album of 2008.
Since then, she’s been touring nearly non-stop, stopping only to marry English actor and comedian Russell Brand. And the tour continues this year, moving through February and into early November, where she’ll finish the tour in Dublin Ireland on the 8th at O2 Arena.
She’ll be spending most of the late winter and early spring in Europe, coming back into the US in mid-summer, and then going back to Europe in the fall. This tour is in celebration of her Teenage Dream album, which has brought hits such as “Teenage Dream”,”California Gurls”,”Not Like The Movies”, and “E.T.”, which she recorded with Kanye West.
Joining her for the US leg of the California Dreams tour is Swedish singer/songwriter Robyn, and on the European tour from Milan to Amsterdam (12 events overall) you’ll hear New Young Pony Club.
The Katy Perry Tour is full of energy, and looks like a can’t miss event for this upcoming season, especially with Katy’s propensity to bust out the crazy attire, dancing, and stage theatrics.
Tickets for the North American part of the tour can be found on Ticketmaster for as little as $50, or on second hand ticket providers, such as Craigslist and Stubhub. Last we looked, there were still several mid-summer dates with tickets available, but I’d grab them before too long, as we can’t imagine them lasting through the spring.
For those of you in Canada, you’ll be pleased to know that Katy will also be hitting spots in Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver through the end of June and early July.
